THE FULL YADA YADA YADA
Hello, I am Josiah Wandera, a freelance web developer based in Nairobi. As a freelancer, I wear many hats, and I am involved in numerous roles such as managing multiple web development projects and idea creation. I am a creative problem solver, carefully combining design knowledge and social media marketing ideas, resulting in a well formulated web solution.
I have always had an obsession with anything tech, data and social related, so I never had trouble with the “what do you want to do when you grow up?” cliche.
It’s clear that design and marketing has immensely changed over the years. Companies and individuals have transformed, there is need for better designs, improved user experience and stand-out online presence. This is what I bring on the table.
So if you are looking for someone who can come up with big ideas (and small ones), design and develop websites, collaborate with other people within your organization, then we will make a cool match 🙂
I recently learned of a new phrase, “epistemic humility.” Recognizing that I may not know something, may not know a great number of things and that this is natural and okay. So am always looking for ways to improve and keep learning.
Books. Reading is turning out to be my new favorite. Just to mention my last two reads:
Don’t make me think by Steve Krug. For me this book was my first “Oh so that’s how to improve web usability.”
Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini. Highlights from this book include how to get people saying yes to your requests. In this era of branding, re-branding and marketing, this book turns out to be quite insightful.
